Week of May 5-11: Missing windows

It wasn't my best week.

The good news was that I got my bike outside for the first time this season, and I did better than expected. Score one for me.

The bad news included thunderstorms getting in the way of my swim and just plain running out of time on Sunday. Ugh.

Swim: Twice for just under an hour each time, for a total of almost 2 hours. Wednesday morning's swim got canceled for thunderstorms, and I never did make it up.

Bike: Two weekday trainer rides and one outdoor ride for a total of almost 5 hours.

Run: Two after-work runs for about an hour each and a quick brick, for a total of about 2 and a quarter hours. I just didn't get that long run in this week.

Other: One weights video followed up by some pull-up/chin-up practice, plus one round of pre-hab for hips and ankles, for a total of 1 hour, 40 minutes.

Overall: About 10 hours, 40 minutes, which is a slightly better-than-average week.

I was really annoyed with myself yesterday for not getting my long run in. We celebrated Mother's Day at the casino late the night before, so I slept through my early morning window. Then I had a work situation pop up in the early afternoon, so I missed that window. And I still had to get groceries and exercise the dogs. It wasn't a total loss — I did take some time to prep Monday's meals — but the end result was no long run. Ugh.

Still, with a solid bike ride under my belt I'm feeling better about my race in two weeks. I'll take the wins where I can find them.
