You don't really have to be good at swim, bike, and run. You just have to work harder than the person behind you.

Week in review June 2-8 — I'm back... kind of
Although I was out of the state for the majority of this past week, I hit the weekend hard.
Swim: Nothing.
Bike: 30 miles in about 1 hour, 46 minutes on one of the flatter, closed-to-traffic routes nearby. After my morning errands, this was all I had time for before the road opened to traffic again. I'm just not to that level of comfort yet.
Run: I did a speedy-ish run after I got back into town Friday night, with the promise to myself that I could order barbecue afterward. I also did 12 miles in hot, humid sunshine yesterday. It was one of those runs where I just put my head down and did it. Total was just short of 3 hours.
Other: I did a full round of heavy and body weight lifting, followed by three sets of plyo exercises, for about 1 hour, 20 minutes.
Overall: Just short of 6 hours, which, considering I crammed all this into three days, isn't too shabby. Below the average typical week, of course.
I enjoyed my short rest and I am looking forward to putting in a period of work — and hopefully reaping the benefits come race time.
