These perfect 70 degree days are taking me out of my morning running routine

Oh yeah.
Now that my triathlon season is officially over and I'm taking a break from swimming and biking, I try to run first thing in the morning. I don't have too much of a problem getting up early, I feel good once it's done, and if work gets busy I don't have to worry about squeezing some miles in.

It's gotten really cool — low 50s and high 40s — these last few early mornings. I dug out my running tights, thin earwarmers and mittens, and I have been enjoying these runs in the crisp air. It beats sweating through my clothes in 5 minutes and having to lug around Gatorade.

But these past few days, we have had incredible weather in the afternoons — 70s, low humidity, sunny, and otherwise perfect. Yesterday, it was too much for me to resist. I happily slept in for an extra hour, and then ended my work day with a glorious 7 miles around my neighborhood.

The forecast for the rest of the week is more of the same: highs in the mid 70s and zero percent chance of rain. Since there's no telling how rough this coming winter is going to be, I am going to take advantage.

I'll have plenty of opportunity to use those warm running tights and mittens — hopefully months down the road. Ha!
